Where the heck did you come from? Summer is practically a distant memory already as we gear up for chilly weather here in Boston. Crunchy falling leaves, all things pumpkin, sweaters. Cool evenings snuggled up with our babies always warm our hearts!
Unfortunately, there are some parents who are not able to do this. October is SIDS, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Heartbreaking doesn’t even begin to describe this devastating loss. While the SIDS rate has decreased significantly in the last couple of decades, the cause is tragically still unknown. However, there are ways to reduce the risk. This includes always placing baby on their back on a firm surface to sleep, removing all blankets, bumpers and toys prior to sleep, and keeping the baby’s nursery between 65-68f . We know there are so many things to learn and remember as a new parent (or a new grandparent!) but we hope that these guidelines are something that we can work together to remember. Us Mamas at Gunamuna are proud to do our part in keeping babies safe by exceeding the strictest standards of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), the National Standards Body in the UK, and Canadian Standards. You can rest assured knowing that our goal is to keep as many babies sleeping safety as possible. Because we all don’t live in places that get chilly fall and winter weather, we offer a range of gunapod sleep sacks to meet every baby’s safe sleep need. Our Cotton gunapod is lightweight yet cozy; perfect for warmer homes and climates. Our new luxury duvet is made out of bamboo viscose and perfect for keeping baby comfortable on chilly evenings.
